Tramontina Enamel Dutch Oven Product Review.
Today I want to tell you about the Tramontina 5.5 Qt Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven. No home cooking arsenal is complete without a dutch oven. And I love all things cast iron. Cast iron cookware in my opinion is the best choice for everything. With a watchful eye at auctions, flea markets, yard sales, you can buy the best longest lasting cookware. It’s not uncommon to pass your cast iron cookware down to your children.
Enameled cast iron cookware is not as common in the US. As it is in other parts of the world. Enameling cast iron is a way to protect the cookware from corrosion or chemical processes. Improve the look or decorate the cookware.
The Tramontina Dutch Oven I brought is 5.5 qt. even though I thought it was too big for one to two people I have found that it is about the right size. It lets me cook with enough room so that I can sear Oxtail, or a Roast the picture in the Oxtail link is my Tramontina full of Oxtail Stew. Or I can make a small or Large Batch of chili con carne. Enamel Coating on the Cast Iron lets me cook, stew, simmer acidic foods like tomato sauces without the worry of the acid in the sauce pitting my cast iron. And it is easy to clean.
The Tramontina Fits nicely in my oven and lets me take the dutch oven from my induction Cook top to the oven If I want to bake in the Tramontina. It comes with a fitted lid with and oven safe knob and the molded handles on the sides of the Tramontina dutch oven are nicely sized and you never have to worry about them loosing up. Or have to deal with rivets on the inside of the dutch oven.
The Tramontina company backs there cookware with a Life Time Warrantee that it will not chip internally. If it douse just call them and arrange for shipping. They will repair or replace it. I have read several online reviews that say the company is easy to deal with and stands behind the product.
One of the Best things is that if you have a nice ten inch cast iron pan. The lid from the Tramontina fits it wonderfully. Or at least it fits my ten inch cast iron skillet. I often reach for the lid and use it when I cook. A cast iron lid for your cast iron skillet is a treat. And the enamel makes for and easy clean up.
One con for enamel cookware is that if you let it get to hot it will discolor the enamel. But that just shows you are using it.
I hope you will check out The Tramontina Enamel Dutch Oven. At around $79 it is and investment that you will never regret. For a little perspective of the value of Tramontina Enamel Cookware Google Le Creuset. It is a famous cast iron cookware from France. There cookware is respected and desired all over the world. The equivalent to the Tramontina 5.5 Qt Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven at $79.00 is the Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast-Iron 5-1/2-Quart Round French (Dutch) Oven, Marseille, $299.95. If you are a professional chef that is one thing. The tools make the job easier. But for home use for the rest of your life and probably your kids to the Tramontina at $79 will work amazingly.
